Distribution of dry ration packs in Rajagiriya, Colombo from 10th June
Rice- 05kg, Dhal- 01kg, Flour- 01kg, Sugar- 01kg, Milk powder- 400g, Tea leaves- 200g, Sprats- 250g, Soya meat- 200g, Chick peas- 500g, Canned fish- 01 small tin, Instant noodles packs- 05, Biscuits- 01 packet and 01 cake of LUX soap.
All donations made voluntarily and generously by supporters of Avanka Lanka.
The recepients of the first donations were nominated by the gramasevaka of the Kotuwegoda GS division. They were assigned tokens and allocated specific times at which they were able to come and pick up their packs.
Most of the recepients in this image are from the unauthorized settlement of almost 60 households; comprising of mainly daily-paid labourers & home-aides; along the banks of the Buthgamuwa/Kotuwegoda canal, near the Kotuwegoda Bridge, along Buthgamuwa Road. The Avanka Lanka Foundation has been involved with several initiatives to alliviate the difficulties these residents have, since 2009.

Second Distribution of dry ration packs in Rajagiriya, Colombo
Thanks to your generous contributions over 200 Adults and over 60 Children were blessed with the second round of improved dry ration packs, and will were able to have decent meals during the lockdown period. Each of the 65 dry ration packs had the following items;
Rice- 05kg, Dhal- 01kg, Flour- 01kg, Sugar- 01kg, Milk powder- 400g, Tea leaves- 200g, Sprats- 250g, Soya meat- 200g, Chick peas- 500g, Canned fish- 01 small tin, Instant noodles packs- 05, Biscuits- 01 packet and 01 cake of LUX soap.

Distributed to 60 families of daily wage earners on 30th October 2020, amidst the 02nd wave of COVID-19 .
